Champagne Gala Going Hollywood

With support from the San Simeon Tourism Alliance and Cambria Tourism Board

Cambria Film Festival Awards GalaDoesn’t everyone have a Hollywood dream that beckons? Back in 1933, Bing Crosby was about to make his first musical for MGM and Marion Davies was set to star in what would be one of her best-reviewed roles. They came together on a Hollywood set to create tonight’s film called Going Hollywood, a cotton candy confection in which a nobody becomes a leading lady and also finds true love with her singing idol. Back in the day, the New York Times called this film “warm, modest and good-natured.” (United States)

Make your own romance come true at our festive closing gala. Mingle with friends and filmmakers during our champagne and canapé hour in the foyer of the Hearst Castle Theater. Then take your seats as we announce the winners of the Feature, Short and Audience awards for the first-ever Cambria Film Festival. Finally, sit back and take pleasure in a time and mood, when movie stars still vacationed in the huge estate just up the hill.
